Hi! My name is Johra Aït Messaoud. You'll find me under my tattoo artist alias Penny Umbran aswell as Penumbran Tattoo. At this point you've definitely caught on the fact that my art, vibe and overall aesthetic is very witchy, occult and fantasy-esque with a hint of goblin/cottage core mixed in a cauldron. You might see the occasional Harry Potter or The Lord Of The Rings tattoo float on by. If that's what you're into, stick around and have a look!

I'm on a constant journey to perfect my craft. Not just tattooing but my art style aswell. I've been drawing since I was a young wee bean... and quite gloomy might I add. No taboos here. In fact, I always thought I was weird and different like most people do. Finding a place is difficult at a young age, well, at any age to be honest. But finding your right place and where you feel like you can truly be yourself is the real challenge. Until you find that being yourself is something that comes naturally. It's not something we're thaught so there's no previous learned lesson to consult about the matter. Anyway, I found my best way to cope was drawing out my own universe. I put my all in those characters. They had their own unique flaws and succeses just like we all do. I still put my all in what I do to this day and that wont stop anytime soon. Each tattoo is to be unique and have a story of their own.
